Jolie Rawn-Luer, (AKA JBxby) has been dancing since the age of three, beginning in ballet. Having moved around BC and Alberta, she trained at various studios throughout her life: Ballet, Pointe, Hip Hop, Acro, Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical as well as singing the lead in Musical Theatre. As soon as age permitted, she joined competitive teams, trained in all styles of dance, strength-building most week nights; the studio became her second home. In 2016, her family moved back to the Shuswap where Jolie joined the Just for Kicks family in Salmon Arm; she competed on the senior team while assisting with teaching the younger dancers.
 
Jolie’s musical journey began as soon as she discovered her own voice. She began with piano lessons at age 5 and taught herself to play guitar and bass. Growing up surrounded by musicians in a musical family she was well placed to collaborate and experiment with a variety of instruments, recording and writing her own music.
 
In high school, Jolie sang the lead in “Music Man,” her Musical Theatre production, she excelled in performances: singing in a choir, dance, drama, acting...

2021 - Shine Festival: 1st Place Overall Jazz Group;  2nd Place Hip Hop Duet “Can’t Keep My Eyes Off You”;  2nd Place Overall Hip Hop Solo; 2nd Place Overall Musical Theatre Group

2018 - Kiwanis Penticton Dance Festival: 3rd Place Self Choreography

Jolie recently released her debut album “Cxld” and will be performing the summer circuit at local venues in the interior of BC with her band “The Rawn Side of Town” while exploring opportunities for the fall… University Dance Programs? Potential prospects for a tour or be part of a production...? We’re excited to see what’s next for JBxby!
